in Use of WebPower by frostioe (130 points)
Hi, I have a two-level nested-design dataset for power analysis. Level 1 represent goals we have subjects listed; level 2 represent differences between individuals. So it is goal nested in person design. The tricky thing is that we do not have treatment/control group; all variables are continuous. Not sure if wecan use WebPower to calculate power.

Hello Frostioe,

For multilevel models with all continuous variables, WebPower offers Monte Carlo methods as the solution. You may perform the power analysis through path diagramming. Please look at the two chapters in the WebPower manual https://webpower.psychstat.org/wiki/_media/grant/webpower_manual_book.pdf:

19. Drawing Path Diagrams by Zhiyong Zhang and Yujiao Mai  (page 313)

 20. Power Analysis based on Monte Carlo Simulation through Diagrams by Zhiyong Zhang and Yujiao Mai (page 323)

   20.1 A Regular Monte Carlo Based Method . . . . . . . . . . . page 323

Let me know if you have any questions about this.

Best,
Yujiao
